Scanning Tunneling Microscopy STM
Michele, Ondřej ; Škoda, David (referee) ; Průša, Stanislav (advisor)
The work deals with STM microscopy. The commercial Nanosurf easyScan2 STM microscope was activated and methodology of STM tip preparation by PtIr wire cutting and W wire etching was established.
Comparison of microscopic diagnostic methods
Veselý, Jakub ; Tihlaříková, Eva (referee) ; Čudek, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the description and comparison of diagnostic methods, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. The introduction is a description of diagnostic methods. The following experimental section dealing with the diagnosis of ferritic chromium steel sample methods of scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and the evaluation and interpretation of measured results. The conclusion provides a comparison, the advantages and disadvantages of diagnostic methods.
Local electrical conductivity measurements in AFM tapping mode
Dao, Radek ; Konečný, Martin (referee) ; Pavera, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is concerned about the development of a probe for local electrical conductivity measurements in tapping mode Atomic Force Microscopy. The teoretical part gives a short overview of Scanning Probe Microscopy techniques, with the focus being on Conductivity Atomic Force Microscopy. Furthermore, the measuring regime in which the probe operates is described here, as well as the basic component of the probe, the quartz tuning fork. The experimental part follows the iterative development process, and contains a chapter dedicated to making of very sharp tips. The final chapters describe the preparation of test samples, which were used to prove the functionality of the probe and the measurement of local electrical conductivity itself.
Technology of manufacture and treatment of medieval arrowhead
Kašpar, Jan ; Stránský, Karel (referee) ; Stránský, Karel (referee) ; Doležal, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis analyses issue of manufacture, typology and use of medieval arrowheads. In theoretical part describe historical evolution of bow and his archaeological discovery in Europe, especially from medieval times. After that is revealed historical evolution of arrowheads and describe their typology. In next chapters are mentioned ways of iron production, mainly in early medieval times and also describe technology of manufacture different types of arrowheads. There is a characterization of medieval arrow, his construction and characteristics. Continuously in this background research are revealing questions of penetration depend on the various types of arrowheads, which are testing on the most known types of armour like chainmail or breast plate. In experimental part of this paper are metallographicaly analyzing archaeological discoveries from the early and late medieval times. Conclusions about their manufacturing, treatment and possibilities of use are built on knowledge about arrowheads structures, hardness and shapes.

Modifying the AFM tip using FIB/GIS in scanning electron microscope
Faitová, Hana ; Matolínová, Iva (advisor) ; Dvořák, Filip (referee)
Atom force microscopy (AFM) is a widely used imaging method of solids' surface structure. Collecting the information about relief is realized by a very sharp tip fixed on a flexible cantilever. The surface is scanned by this tip and the flexion of the cantilever is recorded using the reflection of a laser ray. The tip gradually becomes blunt, dirty or destroyed by this process. The work deals with a possibility of reparation of such tips, which still have usable cantilevers. We used focused ion beam (FIB) and gas injection system (GIS) which are built in the scanning electron microscope (SEM). We tried various techniques and parameters of ion etching and deposition. The modified tips were tested using the AFM on KFPP workplace. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
